This shot was taken in Cappadocia, Turkey. I was pretty terrified to get into this hot air balloon. Being that high up in the sky, with only a wooden basket to protect me felt intimidating. Once I stepped in and heard the explosiveness of the fire lighting us into the air, I realized that the experience truly was magic. We launched around sunrise and floated around Cappadocia, taking in all of the scenery. I have never felt so at peace with an experience before.

This image speaks to me because despite the hundreds of balloons that were launched that morning, this little balloon happened to find itself alone above this canyon, creating isolation. I specifically love the minimalism of the subject of the photo and the soft colors because of the time of day.
